Youth Ski programs

After School Skiing provides a year-round, skill-based training program that focuses on long-term athlete education directed by high quality coaches and designed for young athletes ages 7-18.

The vision of the program is to motivate junior athlete and non athletes alike to learn the technique (specific movements, think learning to swim like a college swimmer) of roller skiing at their own pace while making the challenge fun at all times.

The After School Skiing program provides all urban students, with an opportunity to experience roller skiing every weekday, with peers their own age, and to learn the health and lifestyle benefits associated with exercise and outdoor fun.

Students are able to ski in New York City on play grounds, bike paths and city parks. After School Skiing will assist each student and parent with a roller skiing curriculum and resources, teaching support, and help to make roller skiing equipment available.

After School Skiing step by step instruction is easy to follow and offers students strength, endurance and balance skill sets that begin on grass.

The equipment is easy to use, store, and maintain. The equipment includes roller skis and poles, with easy to use step-in bindings.

Your child will need proof of medical insurance. All students must have a signed waiver and provide their own protective gear. This includes properly fitting helmets, knee, elbow and wrist protection. Parents must have held a one on one meeting with the coaches prior to commencing the program.

Classes are on going. We aim to teach students to begin assessing  their own ski locations for safety, gauge how fast their ability allows and to roller ski on their own time on week ends with friends.
